This was a template plan for 2 homes built with roughly the same design. What is unique about this project from our perspective is, of course, the compound mitres required to fit a large span curved in the upper span as well as along the face. Surprisingly, as complex as the curtain wall application was, the real challenge came in getting the 400lb fixed glass panel for the wine room. It took a seven-man crew to literally bend the glass around the corners inside the house to get it to where it needed to go.
Experience gained: How to get a piece of glass through a maze that’s too small to fit it through. Precision pays off when dealing with compound mitred curtain wall.
